How long did your depression episode last???

Little bit of history. First diagnosed with bipolar at 36 when I had my first manic episode where I thought I was Jesus. Then had my second episode when I was 37 and thought the world was a video game and got into a police chase and got tasered. My third manic episode was when I was 38 and thought I was the creator of bitcoin and the worlds richest person. It was a very fun episode.
In between my three manic episodes I had severe depression and I would stop my meds and get hypo manic then full blown mania.
My question is, I’m now been depressed since October last year and have been taking my meds religiously but I just can’t seem to shake this depression.
How long did yours last? Did yours just go away one day?
Of course I know I can stop my meds and I’ll snap out of my depression but that would make me end up in hospital/jail/dead so that’s not an option.
Any tips on coming out of depression phase?
My doctor suggested lamotrogine but I don’t want to deal with another drug.
Thanks

This is for you. Get ready.

First of all I want to say a proper hello to you. Hello! :) I've been a member of this community not for a long time, but I've been in the crypto world since 2015. I'm not from US (since 90% of reddit is US) but I'll try my best to explain my thoughts in english in this post. Trust me, you won't regret reading it.
I started studying the crypto world for my own since it's a passion, a hobby. Why? Because the whole concept of crypto fits my ideals, ideas and thoughts when it's about the world.
But I will be talking about the Bitcoin, since it's the most important part here. We'll exclude any other alt-coin because makes no sense to talk about them here and is a way broader topic.

The main statement : Bitcoin is the 8th wonder of the world. Is the chance of every single one of us, to have a free life. I want to explain why, because I'm too enthusiastic and all of my friends do not share the same ideas and have no clue about the crypto world, and you are my friends now :).
Money. When it was first created, it got completely centralized. GOVs and institutions were controlling the money. Imagine a country with 1000 people and 1000 whatever-currency. Every one would have 1 currency (let's call it banana-coin). So every person would have 1 banana coin. The GOV is controlling all the banana-coins. If something bad happens, they product more banana coins. What happens when more banana coins are produced? Inflation, thats right. So in order to buy 1 bread, you need now 2 banana-coins instead of 1. This everyone can understand, right? But what if the GOV prints even more? Right, 10 banana-coins for a bread. But we have only one country. Let's add 2 more countries. The country with 10 banana-coins/bread is doing worse than the other 2 where they can still buy 1 bread with 1 banana coin. Then the 2 countries can "destroy" the first country only with the power of money. (I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible)
Now imagine this with USD/EUROS, in a CoronaVirus world with the GOVs. Yup, everything is falling apart, everything is in chaos. The systems are controlled by greedy people.
The conceptual idea of money, is to be UNCONTROLLABLE. Before the invention of money, the goods used as currencies were much better in term of freedom than the money created after. Then money was created, real gold coins, then data in systems, then recessions every time on a period of time, as example 2008 because THE MONEY WASN'T USED AS IT SHOULD BE. FINITE AND FREE.
Then Bitcoin appeared. BOOM! Finite, free and sustained only by its users. It's a wonder. I'm sorry I can't explain this as I have everything in my mind, but I'm trying... The bitcoin creator is not known, but he gave us something he knew we would need. It's like someone came from future to give us this in order to evolve as a society. He knew that the currency in a modern world cannot be used forever if its not gonna change to something that NOBODY CAN CONTROL it. Very few people really understands the quality of this, the chance that we have.
If 21 mil btc were mined, no more producing, the price lets say was at 100k. And the corona virus hits, WE DONT NEED TO PRODUCE MORE. The value will just go up, the bitcoin would help us. We don't need to MAKE more. The whole concept behind the Bitcoin is that HE WOULD WORK for us, we dont need to do anything else just to USE IT. Behind the scenes, it is the 8th wonder of the world. I'm so sad I can't explain exactly how I can in english because I know you would understand me.. I think I need better friends IRL lol
Money = inflation, the GOV is controlling it, they produce it legally (if we produce it we go to jail), ITS NOT FREEDOM. People are not understanding this. You work 20 years of your life for 2.000$ a month and then boom everything crushes because of some greed people and you are ruined.
Bitcoin = if we use it, we are saved. The price can go only up. Even in a Corona Virus situation, when businesses are closing, the bitcoin price would go up and it would sustain us on the timeframe we need. There is no need to do anything else JUST TO USE IT. Globally.
It will be slowly implemented into the word more and more by different companies, BECAUSE WE DICTATE IT. The use of this, will make big financial companies TO USE IT FOR THE SAKE OF THEIR PROFITS. This is our chance.
The price of it will hit big numbers. Maybe not now, maybe not tomorrow or after a month. But at one point, it will get extremely big. It can't hit 100$ anymore at it was. But it's at almost 10k. Remember the 2017? Most of you were like "Ohh If I would have invested then" etc etc. No. You have the chance to invest now. Even if its higher then before. Since it will go only up, there is ALWAYS THE BEST TIME TO INVEST. NOW is the "then" for what's coming next in the phrase "Ohh if I would have invested then".

Thank you if you read the whole thing, I just wanted to share with you my enthusiasm. This is the wonder WE NEED.

The end of CAPITALISM - MUST READ ALL|MUST SHARE FAR AND WIDE. BE PATIENT

Hello everyone! This is my New World Model.
The model is sharing and understanding.
Bit of background:-
Throughout my life I have suffered with Mental Health problems, depression, suicidal thoughts and anxiety. I have battled out of that now and I am extremely passionate to share my story of discovery in order to help everyone else that is suffering around the world.
During this mad COVID-19 lockdown a lot of people are slipping into a very dark place. A place of poverty and desperation. And it is out of the people's control. I have had an idea to regain control.
These thoughts and ideas started coming into my head about why we are suffering and I felt I HAD to write them down. Just to clarify I have been progressively getting these thoughts as my mental health declined. Am I losing it? Or is that just poor attitude and wrongly implemented judgement that came to that conclusion?
It is a long read but please finish it and share it as quickly as possible. Thank you. Oh yeah and don't judge as these are my RAW thoughts in text form based upon what has been happening throughout history- NOT any finalized set-in-stone idea. I just want to open the discussion up. People will say it can never work. It can if we do it properly. We already know our current system is not working so what's the risk?
*DRAFT no. 1*
Indiscriminate resource sharing world-wide.
Helping others is the priority for everyone not making imaginary monetary profit.
People's individual or collective time and energy as currency. An aeroplane needs to get build. We as a species of capable animals allow the team of people to build the aeroplane for us to travel whilst supplying childcare, food and water for free of course. We the people have the ability to solve world wide problems. We just need world wide solutions in order to do so. Abolishment of these false currencies we created which encourages greed exploitation and ignorance to the famine and struggle going on worldwide. This is the first step we MUST take if we want to survive as a species in my opinion. Yes we could colonize the milky way but if we take money with us as an idea ultimately we'll destroy every planet we step foot on through industrialisation and pollution. Until the last planet wipes us out with a fancy new mars virus😂👀
Give people comfort and they will thrive. Give them money and they turn bad. Their priorities and intentions get reversed and the compassion of mankind dies as people are scared to let go of their imaginary money. The priority for everyone becomes greed. Hoarding money as a reserve so that only YOU can live comfortably. At the expense of every starving person world wide.
When a man has no food, water or shelter worries he can properly focus on what actually matters. Helping others by sharing resources with neighbour's in need or giving up your time here to build a hut for someone who is homeless and without a hut. Not because you will gain physical items as a reward but because you will get a spiritual reward. Happiness, empathy, compassion and gratitude. The real rewards in this life not some backwards idea about an imaginary piece of paper that everyone is chasing yet no one is happy to be doing so.
We didn't get so far by inventing monetary incentives for people. The incentives were already there. Love thy neighbour. That's the model that worked. The only sustainable one.
"Give us the teachings of his majesty, for we don't want no devil philosophy" - Bob Marley. in the form of offerings. What you had to offer to your neighbour and vice versa. And that's the model we need to return to -to progress positively. I think this is what most religions are about. The kind people who wrote religious texts soon realised that people will be born that will stray from the ideas of religious books and this brought much death and destruction to the innocent people. To protect the innocent - religion alone would not be enough so they decided that the only way to righteousness for the heathen was to leave this world and come back as another being in order to learn the proper way to live from the teachings of his kind father in order to lead a proper life as it was intended.
I think this may be where human sacrifice came from. The people who did not choose to follow the truth in the forms of religious text were sacrificed to the 'gods' or creators of life as the ancient societies battled to contain the human-caused destruction of the land and animals.
However in doing so we became the greedy murderous people we strived to avoid for centuries.
This is not the correct model we should have been living by. That is the model of tyranny. Forcing people to believe the light exists instead of showing them the light. Light=kindness
Forgiveness and resource sharing is the only sustainable model I can think of.
Your dog loves you because you give him what he needs to be able to live as a dog. Jesus tried to give the people what they need to thrive as men and was crucified for it.
Jesus was not reincarnated. But another man with the same ideas was born from this earth. With the same message of unity. Did Jesus come back from the dead or just the idea behind Jesus's teachings? Maybe they had a similar appearance. Maybe they even had the same name.
But they were not the same "person" as they were born of different mothers.
The idea of unity was the thing that was really resurrected, not a man.
If the true nature of this earth is such that good men are born and so are bad men then we need acknowledge it and accept it and try to show people the reasons behind WHY they should behave a certain way. Never should be for personal gain.
If there were two men born into the world and two plates of food. What right does one man have to the food? He has every right to it. But when he chooses to take the food and his companion dies of starvation. Only then will he realise just how dark and lonely the world is without using HIS OWN compassion.
I will not force you to believe and follow what I am saying. But I will leave you to figure it out for yourself. Whether that's tomorrow or in 10,000 years. Whenever we all start owning our mistakes we have been making as a species and not prosecuting for mistakes made but showing people why their wrong and letting them decide for themselves.
Whether Bob Marley died as nature intended or was killed by powerful men in order to prevent a mass awakening of spirituality is another debate.
This is what the bible was made for.
This is Jesus's message
It is only that way because we are afraid of leaving this world. Afraid of death. Death isn't the enemy. Its the reason we all are here in the first place. The whole world political system is based on fear of death. We need to rid of this to prosper as a species.s made but showing people why their wrong and letting them decide for themselves.
The big question to you is. What are YOU going to do?
World leaders have assassinated people that are a threat to their country's economy and their stash of imaginary money. This has gone on for centuries.
The above model does not pose a threat to the inferior monetary system but replaces it entirely. In return we all get happiness and gratitude. There still may be resource issues. But we will overcome them as a collective righteous world society. The old will starve to death in order for the young to grow and prosper. They should be allowed to Switzerland themselves off this planet to free up resources for their children. This should not be illegal when it is necessary. When one cant survive without stealing the resources from the younger generation. At the moment it is the other way around. The greedy old generation of yesteryear is taking from the young, and it is destroying us all.
It is only that way because we are afraid of leaving this world. Afraid of death. Death isn't the enemy. Its the reason we all are here in the first place. The whole world political system is based on fear of death. We need to rid of this to prosper as a species.
Do not post until humanity is really threatened. Otherwise the people in power will ignore. Ignorance is bliss after all.
Ignorance from spirituality is the opposite of bliss. Fear, anxiety, depression, misused aggression.
We misunderstood religion. Misunderstood religious sacrificial killings of humans and animals. Because of that there has been worldwide spread of spiritual devaluation.
They were sacrificing to protect their own children. They did not want to kill the snake. But the snake was biting the children so was killed by the villagers to protect the young. The snake still has every right to keep it's young safe. That's why he bites the human. The human has the right to keep his young safe, that's why he kills the snake, lion, man. And that is why war is happening. People's inert desire to care for their young means they are willing to die in war for their young to prosper. We shouldn't be at war with ourselves, but with nature.
When the storms come we round up and shield each other. When the hungry lion comes we acknowledge he needs to feed his family and before feeding the lion we must seek to protect human beings first. Animal sacrifice was just animal population control. As the will to live is strong for the Lion he will look to take food off the man. But he will only do that when man stops offering him the food in return for NOTHING. When this happens the lion kills out of starvation and the will to live. You see we are taking food off eachother, taking our resources off one another simply because of our will to live and to allow our young to prosper. In the process we are causing other humans to suffer.
To mitigate this as much as possible we need to suppress the idea of greed and selfishness and only act in kindness to our self and then our young. No one else. Once this is accomplished by all there will be true world peace. Warfare will cease to exist and people will be willing to share time energy and resources for the good of humankind. Not animalkind. We can make a start on animals once we have sorted ourselves out first! But we can't start at animal or we will forget ourselves. Warfare will cease to exist anymore and we will be truly free to prosper. Warfare whether nuclear or biological is used by the richest in order to hoard resources for their future young to prosper.
The common man has no need for war.
Only the wealthy.
We need to use food oil coal electricity gas whatever as currency because that is fundamentally what the citizens need. Not paper from a tree.
This is what will happen everywhere eventually. No matter how long it takes.
So from now on I pledge to do what's right by me, then my family, then my children (if i have any) and then the rest of my human brothers and sisters. Not for anyone else but because this is how i have decided to start living my life. From doing so I will prosper just like Karma said I would. You can prosper too, and so can your children and your children's children. But only when we change can we prosper onwards.
The break from the system we are currently experiencing in the form of Coronavirus COVID-19 is equal to the 40 days and 40 nights story. Jesus breaks away from the societal system and fasts or whatever. Which allows him to reconnect and rediscover what is really important to the human life. I think that's religion basically.hat is dictatorship.
That is the wrong model.
The model was designed and enforced by certain powerful groups out of fear and desperation for the people. They wanted to save the people from themselves. They just didn't see what it would evolve into. How their seemingly wise ancient sacrificial system could change the world for the worse.
Well now we do. We see the war. We see the starvation. We see the destruction caused by the failings of the system and yet here we all are with food stock in our fridge. Pretending to be blissfully ignorant while out there somewhere, someone is suffering because of the very system we are enforcing on the people of earth.
World leaders- its time to wake up and change the system.
Design your policies on the good they can do. Not the fake paper money that can be gained from the policies that you enforce. Oppression has served its purpose. We got the technology and knowledge to help everyone. Lets start doing it now. Because this type of solution is coming eventually. As it is the only sustainable one.
Obviously i don't agree with everything in religion because i think that it was added to by others and over time became the system that enslaved not served.uage in order to communicate this message. His ancestors used pictures on rocks in the form of hieroglyphs. important to the human life. I think thats religion basically.
Jesus wasn't teaching his own teachings but he was trying to get man to recognize the failings in the societal model being followed. He used the human language in order to communicate this message. His ancestors used pictures on rocks in the form of hieroglyphs. important to the human life. I think that's religion basically.
They are not Jesus's teachings but everyone's.
Obviously I don't agree with everything in religion because i think that it was added to by others and over time became the system that enslaved not served.
Just like western capitalism.
The ancient humans made the same mistake and bludgeoned eachother to death with sticks for food thinking every man would do the same.
This is what we must teach our children.
Dont be the ancient murderer. Dont let the system abolish your true values.
Dont be the ancient homonid murderer's and slave masters.
Dont be the adolf Hitlers.
Dont be the Winston churchills.
But be the marley, be the ghandi, preach your message of peace and kindness.
Because if you dont us humans will go extinct due to our own greed and the next species to evolve on this planet over the next million years will take our place. We could well be molten lava at the centre of the earth by this point. The replacement beings that have evolved for millions of years at the top of the food chain wont mind. They wont miss us.
They wont mourn us.
They wont care about us.
But they will learn from us to become the men that we should have been.
We have had chances to change already.
Maybe the virus is here to humble us enough to do so. Maybe not. Whether man created it or nature, it will humble us one by one.
The purpose of life is to pass information onto others, and we have been passing down the wrong information if we want our species to survive.
If your dog bites we teach him there is no need to bite for he has everything he needs to live right here at home. If a human "bites" we judge upon them and lock them in a jail hell as punishment. In order to create a kind compassionate human society worldwide we must stop locking people away and we must work with them to understand their problems and help them overcome. Once the oppression has been majorly negated worldwide for a few generations only then will we thrive as a species of love and peace, without mass famine, without war, without starvation, without drought.
That will be the dogs home we create for ourselves to live in peace.
When we dont have any problems we will look to create them in our own minds. If we compare with others we will feel we dont have enough. We must not compare. Instead we must voice why we require more. If there is sufficient reaources and your reasons are justifiably kind then you can have it. If not then stop asking and start pissing with the cock you got otherwise you are causing suffering world wide by taking more than is required. We must recognize this as an animalistic bodily reaction akin to jealousy. Taking due to jealousy will lead us back down that same path we've been on for all time.
No one person is oppressing another. It's the system of oppression that needs to change.
The only reason we all follow the current system is because someone else is dealing with the bigger issues caused by the system. We need to stop taking this blind-eye attitude to our system
Money should be persecuted for causing us to willingly commit crimes against humanity.
It should be destroyed or used wisely for now by different means such as bitcoin as it is a finite amount and cannot be inflated. Not the current model of greed. Inflating the currency so much that it's worthless to the small man who has pennies and is still heavily taxed by the government and therefore it encourages the small humble family man to seek more and more and more to become a rich person like his celebrity idol, friend, boss etc all the while turning a blind eye to all the suffering they're causing along the way. Be yourself not what your idols are. What I mean by that is drop all opinion that you do not hold to be true and treat people how you would treat yourself. With 100% respect, patience and understanding.
If you cannot see something from someone else's perspective then you are lying to yourself or you are closed minded and are for some reason unable to imagine being the other person and then imagining how they would feel in any given scenario and then going from there with how you choose to treat them - based upon what would help you through a big mess and see what you were doing wrong and what you could do to put it right. This is the level of respect and empathy we should take and give and show our children too.
That may help humanity out of this mess.
Does 'matter' create us or do we create matter.
Do the subatomic particles of our body make us conscious or is it our souls. If its your soul then who created your soul. If you say no one it was biology and nature then who created nature. If you say no one it just exists as a force because something big imploded then how does creation exist in the first place you say no one knows be quiet.
If you say our subatomic particles make us conscious because rocks from space imploded. Imploded from what? Why? Every event must be linked to one creator of all events ever. What is that creator of events that lead to the creation of earth's life including your own birth and even this very thought. You say no one knows be quiet.
If you say aliens from another planet introduced their intelligence genome to monkeys in order to take over the planet as their resources are slim on theirs then who created intelligence. If we became what we refer to as "aliens" and were successfully able to fully colonize mars and then our galaxy and even the whole universe as we multiply exponentially on every planet in the expanding universe we have terra formed will we eventually catch up with the expansion of time? Enabling us to travel back to the beginning of life+time's creation. Thus finding our answer to whatever created this rocky abyss we're a part of and who knows maybe we'll even find out why and whats next to discover.
Time and life are what made us. Time started for whatever reason and created the universe. The universe created life. And we are here trying to discover what created time. Maybe once we do everything will make more sense. Maybe that's black holing it straight into somewhere equally as crazy. The question is does time and life make it through the black hole to the other side of the multiverse where time begins again. If so how many of these are there until we reach the finale, if theres only one universe or we're down to the final multiverse then what? We break the multiverse by simply living in it until we destroy it and it destroys life with it. Well what happens then. Where did all the matter and life disappear to? Heaven forever to exist as pure bliss? I dont know. You could say it doesn't exist anymore and thats it. Ok but somehow there was nothing and we appeared so there must be something. The life force of all creation within us and time is the only thing that may truly exist. And when it gets bored it kicks off and kickstarts the events all over again.
Therefore if aliens visit a planet it will be to include their DNA type and irradicate the existing one. Thus introducing alien dna into the beings to make us conscious beings enjoying new forms of nature every time around. Sometimes with a horsehead sometimes with an Egyptian cat. As a sort of fungus that grows to replace us. Maybe that fungus is what we consider evil to be. Anything that changes us for the "bad" (by our life model) might be for a bigger reason. Maybe we need to find out the root cause of our existence or maybe we just need to shut up and enjoy living. But either way is terrifying for us to comprehend. But it might be undeniable truth that we cant see that is keeping us in this hell and from moving forward on this vibrant earth in the best way.
Nature is the only dictator and we are the ones who choose whether to go by natures rules or not.
The current model is one where currency is printed on paper or plastic until it causes so much destruction it has to be replaced with the same thing repackaged as a better idea aka digital currencies. This will sustain us for a while until it eventually does the same thing. The only way forward for us all to be free from suffering is to allow people to be who they are as long as they cause no harm to other humans and when they feel ready they can venture out of comfort and boredom and bring forth their ideas of contribution and improvement and start putting them into practice.
I think the slow change we're all going through will lead us there. If most of the people on earth suddenly died then people would form a group to help eachother survive. That would grow into another new society. Will they create gold coins and start exploiting people for the gold instead of allowing everyone to live happily and comfortably? Probably yes. Will they end up in the same position we are in now of division and monetary competition which causes the death of the poorest every day? Probably. Or will they decide to keep helping eachother and keep sharing and teach their children to do the same all the way up to world population. What would that sharing world look like. And can we achieve it.
Why haven't we already done this you ask? Surely if it was that obvious and feasible then everyone would be doing this already.
The answer is we were. But as we evolved and grew in population we started to change our behaviour as a species. This was due to the people being forced against their will to work for the masters. Whether that was by slavery or with monetary bribes or both.
Maybe we can undo the damage and return to our roots of kindness to all people?
We need to prohibit money as thats making our lives miserable.
Prohibit the idea of selfishness and exploitation all the way down to allowing your parent to die because theres not enough food left for the developing child nextdoor. Who knows then maybe that child will grow up and discover a way to feed his elders that for some reason the elders and top adults were unable to see.
Thats the way I look at the world. In order to correct the problems that plagued my elders. Thats what we should be using the young generation for. Not schooling them up to be able to earn money for the rich elders who do nothing but hoard it for their young all the while allowing others to suffer because of it. I believe it all started with greed and selfishness and our individual will to live. However we have developed language now. We have the advantage of being able to communicate our intentions and wants/needs to others. Why arent we using that language to negotiate our behaviour towards eachother for the benefit of all. Why are we only using our language for personal gain.
We learn to speak in school then learn to write then we learn how to use it in a negative destructive way and we all do it because we were taught by our elders to basically fight for money until you're comfortable and then forget about the rest of society. All under the guise of 'money is necessary for every one's survival and progression'. It's not necessary at all. It used to be. But we are advanced enough to do away with money and greed now. Why aren't we doing it?
Because the people at the top haven't said so... YET.
A - nothing lyrics refers to we've got nothing without helping one another.
We aint got nothing if we've got money except a bank full of exploitation greed and selfishness.
All country leaders need to agree simultaneously to abolish money and make resources free for everyone simultaneously and freeze the use of all money. Everyone still has to go to work as people need to be fed homed electricity and gas. And we need to keep these services running in the world. Money becomes useless and everyone gets everything they need to live. Eventually they should look to prosper out of comfort and bring forth their societal improvement ideas for implementation.
This means no laws. No drugs are illegal. Nothing is illegal because if it is then there will be people who will use that to exploit others = criminals. Criminals will then hoard things to exploit others as they'll convince themselves that them and their family are more worthy than others. So we only trade with perishable items so that they cannot be hoarded and siphoned from others by the greedy.
Biodegradable money? Or just actually stick to our promise of helping others THEN inventing things to improve the species.
Like wikipedia where anyone can contribute to putting factual information on there.
We need to realise that anyone can contribute to the progression model mentioned above and as long as it's followed properly we'll be on our way to world peace and happiness for all.
As long as we debate what is needed with passion for the human rights of the people we will prosper.
We need to realise our true purpose as a species and that is to protect and serve. Eachother.
We got lost somewhere along the way, but we can correct our problems. But only we can. And only when we stand up and have the guts to do so.
Unless we want to continue on fighting with eachother which is preventing us from leaving the planet to colonize. We will go extinct on this great fireball through natural weather disasters and plagues. Wiping out the human species altogether.
Unless we change our course as a collective species to allow us to get off this planet and populate another to ensure our survival.
When we do that is another question only world leaders can answer.
So i ask you, the leader of your countrymen, are you in?
If so then all the poweful leaders all the world must unite. Starting with the most powerful.
Just like what happened when the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK idea was created.
My ideas can be expanded by richer men who have the means to do so. In order for the growth of our species.
We must allow people to live in order to grow. And to live is to have the possibility to do anything without persecution and condemnation legal or otherwise. Thats what the 10 commandments are no? We ingored that then and have been suffering ever since. Lets not ignore it this time. Lets end human suffering for all. We can only accomplish this if we all succeed in passing down the morality to our children. This is what i would teach my child and i think everyone would do the same if it meant no human suffering.

It's a trick. Get an axe. ($50M Bitcoin Cash Tech Park BCH fork attack)

Thanks to LovelyDay for pointing out this article: https://news.bitcoin.com/plans-to-build-a-50m-bitcoin-cash-tech-park-in-north-queensland-revealed/
From the article:
""At the Bitcoin Cash City conference in North Queensland, the CEO of Code Valley, Noel Lovisa, announced plans to build a $50 million dollar Bitcoin Cash tech park in the city of Townsville. The plan is to aggregate startup companies and there are more than 12 Bitcoin Cash focused startups already on board. Additionally, the BCH tech park creators aim to create a sister project with a mining and server facility built near the Kennedy Energy Park."
I've read about this Code Valley thing. Basically it was a guy working in his basement for 10 years to try and build a developer marketplace where the software (closed source, licensed) connects modules of code written by other developers together and magically compiles a binary that works.
I'm not even going to start on how you would possibly debug such a thing.
Look, folks. Let's review some history:
Now these fuckers mysteriously raised $50mm to build a tech park, aggregate BCH startups, and build a mining facility? Oh, and by the way, they want to develop their own BCH client because reasons?
The chances of this being fork attack part 3 are 90%.
Questions we need to ask:
1) Who the fuck is Code Valley and this CEO guy? 2) Who is bankrolling this "Tech Park"? 3) Why are they bribing startups to come work at their "Tech Park"? 4) What is their business model / how do they make a profit? 5) If 4 has no clear answer, it's probably the fucking bank and spook cartel attacking again, folks.
In closing, people:

It's a trick. Get an axe.

I am the accidental IT guy + anti-poaching pilot in the Central African Bush that got pissed at Microsoft for their Windows 10 shenanigans. I'm here with the project's staff, deep in the Chinko Reserve. Some folks asked.. so here we are.. AUA

Thanks everyone. Gotta call it a night (Generators are off and bugs keep flinging themselves at my screen at a high velocity). Hope some of you found this an interesting glimpse into our isolated life here. And thanks to everyone who donated.. every little bit counts and we've been blown away by the generosity! (Btw, Total Win X usage here... 17gb!)

Edit: Just a mass edit notice. This morning, now that my brain isn't fried.. I've gone thru a bunch of my comments to edit for spelling/grammar and also to add some information if I didn't fully answer
So.. I'm the guy that ranted about Windows 10 updates secretly downloading on our slow, expensive, satellite connection. I was just upset, and venting. However, since there were several requests for an AMA, and we are trying to fundraise after our ultralight airplane crashed (album below), we decided it could be cool to try. To be honest, I have a good deal of experience as a bush pilot & IT guy in East Africa, as well as living in Antarctica and many other cool places.. but the staff here can speak with more experience about Anti-Poaching/wildlife protection and the creation of this project. So, if you guys are interested in this.. I'll do the typing, and they'll field your questions.
About Us: We are a team of local Central African + foreign expat staff in the Chinko Reserve (bordering Congo & South Sudan) trying to save wildlife from the militarized rebel poachers. We train and deploy rangers to hunt down these smugglers who have killed the majority of game wildlife and attack the local villages. Using aircraft, we support the rangers from above. Though, with the recent accident, along with the constant threat of armed poachers and rebel groups like Kony's LRA child army.. we are up against it!! Our founder first conceived the project in 2012 while he was falsely imprisoned for a massacre he discovered and tried to report! (Link below) In the last 30 years, poaching has driven the elephant population from 60,000 down to only a couple 100! However, In a very short time, Chinko has cleared a 3,000 sq/km "core protection zone" of all activity, & wildlife have seen significant rises. Now, we are trying to expand further into the reserve, which at 17,600 sq/km is almost as big as Kruger national park, and virtually untouched! Fundraising With the loss of our ULM, we started this campaign in the hopes to quickly get our operation back up to 100% . The few expats here have spent the majority of the last years in the bush & never tried a crowdfunding medium. I, while NOT a professional PR guy for this organization, have been an avid redditor for years. So I convinced the boss that this could be a possible venue for fundraising if people are interested. (Included proof below). If you are interested, check out our campaign here: Indiegogo's Generosity Site. ... We're even giving bitcoin a try! 14bNP5krJeBPGT6xYWdfQYD4veNC9nLiib ..

Imgur albums & Links:

Proof:
  • You can match the staff member on our main site's staff page to the listed creator the Indiegogo page
  • I'm in the album of chinko's accident as well as in the proof picture from yesterday and here's today as well
  • Lastly, the indiegogo page's Non-profit Tax ID can be linked to the Chinko Project
Lastly: As you can imagine, even on a good day our internet & power are not great. if we're offline for a bit, know that I'll be frantically trying to fix the problem.. or hyenas invaded the camp and we're in a fierce man vs beast struggle for the dominant consumer of chickens in the area. Root for us, we're the good guys :) Thanks again for everything, and the amazing generosity we've received... bush life doesn't usually include much contact/attention from the outside world.. this has been interesting to say the least!

A few stories about Brian Krebs: The independent cybercrime journalist who exposes criminals on the internet

First, a bit of introduction before we get into the living drama that is Brian Krebs.
Brian Krebs has been a journalist for decades, starting in the late 90s. He got his start at The Washington Post, but what he's most famous for are his exposes on criminal businesses and individuals who perpetuate cyber crime worldwide. In 2001, he got his interest in cybercrime piqued when a computer worm locked him out of his own computer. In 2005, he shifted from working as a staff writer at The Washington Post's tech newswire to writing for their security blog, "Security Wire". During his tenure there, he started by focusing on the victims of cybercrime, but later also started to focus on the perpetrators of it as well. His reporting helped lead to the shutdown of McColo, a hosting provider who provided service to some of the world's biggest spammers and hackers. Reports analyzing the shutdown of McColo estimated that global spam volume dropped by between 40 and 70 percent. Further analysis revealed it also played host to child pornography sites, and the Russian Business Network, a major Russian cybercrime ring.
In 2009, Krebs left to start his own site, KrebsOnSecurity. Since then, he's been credited with being the first to report on major events such as Stuxnet and when Target was breached, resulting in the leakage of 40 million cards. He also regularly investigates and reveals criminals' identities on his site. The latter has made him the bane of the world of cybercrime, as well as basically a meme, where criminals will include references like Made by Brian Krebs in their code, or name their shops full of stolen credit cards after him.
One of his first posts on his new site was a selection of his best work. While not particularly dramatic, they serve as an excellent example of dogged investigative work, and his series reveal the trail of takedowns his work has documented, or even contributed to.
And now, a selection of drama involving Krebs. Note, all posts are sarcastically-tinged retellings of the source material which I will link throughout. I also didn't use the real names in my retellings, but they are in the source material. This took way too long to write, and it still does massively condense the events described in the series. Krebs has been involved with feuds with other figures, but I'd argue these tales are the "main" bits of drama that are most suited for here.

Fly on the Wall

By 2013, Krebs was no stranger to cybercriminals taking the fight to the real world. He was swatted previously to the point where the police actually know to give him a ring and see if there'd actually been a murder, or if it was just those wacky hackers at it again. In addition, his identity was basically common knowledge to cybercriminals, who would open lines of credit in his name, or find ways to send him money using stolen credit cards.
However, one particular campaign against him caught his eye. A hacker known as "Fly" aka "Flycracker" aka "MUXACC1" posted on a Russian-language fraud forum he administered about a "Krebs fund". His plan was simple. Raise Bitcoin to buy Heroin off of a darknet marketplace, address it to Krebs, and alert his local police via a spoofed phone call. Now, because Krebs is an investigative journalist, he develops undercover presences on cybercrime forums, and it just so happened he'd built up a presence on this one already.
Guys, it became known recently that Brian Krebs is a heroin addict and he desperately needs the smack, so we have started the "Helping Brian Fund", and shortly we will create a bitcoin wallet called "Drugs for Krebs" which we will use to buy him the purest heroin on the Silk Road. My friends, his withdrawal is very bad, let’s join forces to help the guy! We will save Brian from the acute heroin withdrawal and the world will get slightly better!
Fly had first caught Krebs' attention by taunting him on Twitter, sending him Tweets including insults and abuse, and totally-legit looking links. Probably either laced with malware, or designed to get Krebs' IP. He also took to posting personal details such as Krebs' credit report, directions to his house, and pictures of his front door on LiveJournal, of all places.
So, after spotting the scheme, he alerted his local police that he'd probably have someone sending him some China White. Sure enough, the ne'er-do-wells managed to raise 2 BTC, which at the time was a cool $200 or so. They created an account on the premiere darknet site at the time, The Silk Road under the foolproof name "briankrebs7". They found one seller who had consistently high reviews, but the deal fell through for unknown reasons. My personal theory is the seller decided to Google where it was going, and realized sending a gram of dope into the waiting arms of local law enforcement probably wasn't the best use of his time. Still, the forum members persevered, and found another seller who was running a buy 10 get 2 free promotion. $165 of Bitcoin later, the drugs were on their way to a new home. The seller apparently informed Fly that the shipment should arrive by Tuesday, a fact which he gleefully shared with the forum.
While our intrepid hero had no doubt that the forum members were determined to help him grab the tail of the dragon, he's not one to assume without confirmation, and enlisted the help of a graduate student at UCSD who was researching Bitcoin and anonymity on The Silk Road, and confirmed the address shared by Fly was used to deposit 2 BTC into an account known to be used for money management on the site.
By Monday, an envelope from Chicago had arrived, containing a copy of Chicago confidential. Taped inside were tiny baggies filled with the purported heroin. Either dedicated to satisfied customers, or mathematically challenged, the seller had included thirteen baggies instead of the twelve advertised. A police officer arrived to take a report and whisked the baggies away.
Now, Fly was upset that Krebs wasn't in handcuffs for drug possession, and decided to follow up his stunt by sending Krebs a floral arrangement shaped like a cross, and an accompanying threatening message addressed to his wife, the dire tone slightly undercut by the fact that it was signed "Velvet Crabs". Krebs' curiosity was already piqued from the shenanigans with the heroin, but with the arrival of the flowers decided to dive deeper into the сука behind things.
He began digging into databases from carding sites that had been hacked, but got his first major breakthrough to his identity from a Russian computer forensics firm. Fly had maintained an account on a now-defunct hacking forum, whose database was breached under "Flycracker". It turns out, the email Flycracker had used was also hacked at some point, and a source told Krebs that the email was full of reports from a keylogger Fly had installed on his wife's computer. Now, because presumably his wife wasn't part of, or perhaps even privy to her husband's illicit dealings, her email account happened to be her full legal name, which Krebs was able to trace to her husband. Now, around this time, the site Fly maintained disappeared from the web, and administrators on another major fraud forum started purging his account. This is a step they typically take when they suspect a member has been apprehended by authorities. Nobody knew for sure, but they didn't want to take any chances.
More research by Krebs revealed that the criminals' intuition had been correct, and Fly was arrested in Italy, carrying documents under an assumed name. He was sitting in an Italian jail, awaiting potential extradition to the United States, as well as potentially facing charges in Italy. This was relayed to Krebs by a law enforcement official who simply said "The Fly has been swatted". (Presumably while slowly removing a pair of aviator sunglasses)
While Fly may have been put away, the story between Krebs and Fly wasn't quite over. He did end up being extradited to the US for prosecution, but while imprisoned in Italy, Fly actually started sending Krebs letters. Understandably distrustful after the whole "heroin" thing, his contacts in federal law enforcement tested the letter, and found it to be clean. Inside, there was a heartfelt and personal letter, apologizing for fucking with Krebs in so many ways. He also forgave Krebs for posting his identity online, leading him to muse that perhaps Fly was working through a twelve-step program. In December, he received another letter, this time a simple postcard with a cheerful message wishing him a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Krebs concluded his post thusly:
Cybercrooks have done some pretty crazy stuff to me in response to my reporting about them. But I don’t normally get this kind of closure. I look forward to meeting with Fly in person one day soon now that he will be just a short train ride away. And he may be here for some time: If convicted on all charges, Fly faces up to 30 years in U.S. federal prison.
Fly ultimately was extradited. He plead guilty and was sentenced to 41 months in jail

vDOS and Mirai Break The Internet

Criminals are none too happy when they find their businesses and identities on the front page of KrebsOnSecurity. It usually means law enforcement isn't far behind. One such business was known as vDOS. A DDOS-for-hire (also known as a "booter" or a "stresser") site that found itself hacked, with all their customer records still in their databases leaked. Analysis of the records found that in a four-month time span, the service had been responsible for about 8.81 years worth of attack time, meaning on average at any given second, there were 26 simultaneous attacks running. Interestingly, the hack of vDOS came about from another DDOS-for-hire site, who as it turns out was simply reselling services provided by vDOS. They were far from the only one. vDOS appeared to provide firepower to a large number of different resellers.
In addition to the attack logs, support messages were also among the data stolen. This contained some complaints from various clients who complained they were unable to launch attacks against Israeli IPs. This is a common tactic by hackers to try and avoid unwanted attention from authorities in their country of residence. This was confirmed when two men from Israel were arrested for their involvement in owning and running vDOS. However, this was just the beginning for this bit of drama.
The two men arrested went by the handles "applej4ck" and "Raziel". They had recently published a paper on DDOS attack methods in an online Israeli security magazine. Interestingly, on the same day the men were arrested, questioned, and released on bail, vDOS went offline. Not because it had been taken down by Israeli authorities, not because they had shut it down themselves, but because a DDOS protection firm, BackConnect Security, had hijacked the IP addresses belonging to the company. To spare a lot of technical detail, it's called a BGP hijack, and it basically works by a company saying "Yeah, those are our addresses." It's kind of amazing how much of the internet is basically just secured by the digital equivalent of pinky swears. You can read some more technical detail on Wikipedia. Anyway, we'll get back to BackConnect.
Following the publication of the story uncovering the inner workings of vDOS, KrebsOnSecurity was hit with a record breaking DDOS attack, that peaked at 620/Gbps, nearly double the most powerful DDOS attack previously on record. To put that in perspective, that's enough bandwidth to download 5 simultaneous copies of Interstellar in 4K resolution every single second, and still have room to spare. The attack was so devastating, Akamai, one of the largest providers of DDOS protection in the world had to drop Krebs as a pro bono client. Luckily, Google was willing to step in and place his site under the protection of Google's Project Shield, a free service designed to protect the news sites and journalists from being knocked offline by DDOS attacks.
This attack was apparently in retaliation for the vDOS story, since some of the data sent in the attack included the string "freeapplej4ck". The attack was executed by a botnet of Internet of Things (or IoT) devices. These are those "smart" devices like camera systems, routers, DVRs. Basically things that connect to the cloud. An astounding amount of those are secured with default passwords that can be easily looked up from various sites or even the manufacturers' websites. This was the start of a discovery of a massive botnet that had been growing for years.
Now time for a couple quick side stories:
Dyn, a company who provides DNS to many major companies including Twitter, Reddit, and others came under attack, leaving many sites (including Twitter and Reddit) faltering in the wake of it. Potentially due to one of their engineers' collaboration with Krebs on another story. It turned out that the same botnet that attacked Krebs' site was at least part of the attack on Dyn
And back to BackConnect, that DDOS protection firm that hijacked the IP addresses from vDOS. Well it turns out BGP Hijacks are old hat for the company. They had done it at least 17 times before. Including at least once (purportedly with permission) for the address 1.3.3.7. Aka, "leet". It turns out one of the co-founders of BackConnect actually posted screenshots of him visiting sites that tell you your public IP address in a DDOS mitigation industry chat, showing it as 1.3.3.7. They also used a BGP Hijack against a hosting company and tried to frame a rival DDOS mitigation provider.
Finally, another provider, Datawagon was interestingly implicated in hosting DDOS-for-hire sites while offering DDOS protection. In a Skype conversation where the founder of Datawagon wanted to talk about that time he registered dominos.pizza and got sued for it, he brings up scanning the internet for vulnerable routers completely unprompted. Following the publication of the story about BackConnect, in which he was included in, he was incensed about his portrayal, and argued with Krebs over Skype before Krebs ultimately ended up blocking him. He was subsequently flooded with fake contact requests from bogus or hacked Skype accounts. Shortly thereafter, the record-breaking DDOS attack rained down upon his site.
Back to the main tale!
So, it turns out the botnet of IoT devices was puppeteered by a malware called Mirai. How did it get its name? Well, that's the name its creator gave it, after an anime called Mirai Nikki. How did this name come to light? The creator posted the source code online. (The name part, not the origin. The origin didn't come 'til later.) The post purported that they'd picked it up from somewhere in their travels as a DDOS industry professional. It turns out this is a semi-common tactic when miscreants fear that law enforcement might come looking for them, and having the only copy of the source code of a malware in existence is a pretty strong indicator that you have something to do with it. So, releasing the source to the world gives a veneer of plausible deniability should that eventuality come to pass. So who was this mysterious benefactor of malware source? They went by the name "Anna-senpai".
As research on the Mirai botnet grew, and more malware authors incorporated parts of Mirai's source code into their own attacks, attention on the botnet increased, and on the people behind it. The attention was presumably the reason why Hackforums, the forum where the source code was posted, later disallowed ostensible "Server Stress Tester" services from being sold on it. By December, "Operation Tarpit" had wrought 34 arrests and over a hundred "knock and talk" interviews questioning people about their involvement.
By January, things started to come crashing down. Krebs published an extensive exposé on Anna-senpai detailing all the evidence linking them to the creation of Mirai. The post was so big, he included a damn glossary. What sparked the largest botnet the internet had ever seen? Minecraft. Minecraft servers are big business. A popular one can earn tens of thousands of dollars per month from people buying powers, building space, or other things. It's also a fiercely competitive business, with hundreds of servers vying for players. It turns out that things may have started, as with another set of companies, two rival DDOS mitigation providers competing for customers. ProTraf was a provider of such mitigation technology, and a company whose owner later worked for ProTraf had on at least one occasion hijacked addresses belonging to another company, ProxyPipe. ProxyPipe had also been hit with DDOS attacks they suspected to be launched by ProTraf.
While looking into the President of ProTraf, Krebs realized he'd seen the relatively uncommon combination of programming languages and skills posted by the President somewhere else. They were shared by Anna-senpai on Hackforums. As Krebs dug deeper and deeper into Anna-senpai's online presence, he uncovered other usernames, including one he traced to some Minecraft forums where a photoshopped picture of a still from Pulp Fiction contained the faces of BackConnect, which was a rival to ProTraf's DDOS mitigation business, and another face. A hacker by the name of Vyp0r, who another employee of ProTraf claimed betrayed his trust and blackmailed him into posting the source of another piece of malware called Bashlite. There was also a third character photoshopped into the image. An anime character named "Yamada" from a movie called B Gata H Hei.
Interestingly, under the same username, Krebs found a "MyAnimeList" profile which, out of 9 titles it had marked as watched, were B Gata H Hei, as well as Mirai Nikki, the show from which Mirai derived its name. It continues on with other evidence, including DDOS attacks against Rutgers University, but in short, there was little doubt in the identity of "Anna-senpai", but the person behind the identity did contact Krebs to comment. He denied any involvement in Mirai or DDOS attacks.
"I don’t think there are enough facts to definitively point the finger at me," [Anna-senpai] said. "Besides this article, I was pretty much a nobody. No history of doing this kind of stuff, nothing that points to any kind of sociopathic behavior. Which is what the author is, a sociopath."
He did, however, correct Krebs on the name of B Gata H Kei.
Epilogue
Needless to say, the Mirai botnet crew was caught, but managed to avoid jailtime thanks to their cooperation with the government. That's not to say they went unpunished. Anna-senpai was sentenced to 6 months confinement, 2500 hours of community service, and they may have to pay up to $8.6 million in restitution for their attacks on Rutgers university.

Other Stories

I don't have the time or energy to write another effortpost, and as is I'm over 20,000 characters, so here's a few other tidbits of Krebs' clashes with miscreants.

CSW: I am Satoshi Nakamoto. I created Bitcoin - [BitKan 1v1] Craig Wright vs Jiangzhuoer

Question 1: Both the BCH and BSV communities think that they are the true, original bitcoin from Nakamoto. What do you think was the original idea from Nakamoto?
**CSW:**My original idea is defined in white paper for no limits. And I also described this in the P2P Foundation. It is a distributed system. Users use it to connect to each other, and the miners, to stop double Spending. I explain this further late in 2010, I basically said that the network expands to have a number of nodes that become large data center type operations, because it's not about running nodes. People who run nodes are foolish unless that making money, that's it. When I created Bitcoin, it is a overlay network of the peer-to-peer network, the top of peer-to-peer network. We did peer-to-peer. Peer-to-peer means not what you send to the network, and then another user gets it by the network. That is outside the definition of peer to peer. That is a typical centralized mesh. Why Bitcoin works is that user Alice sends to user Bob,Bob received the transaction. So Bob wrote that he received it. He sent it to the network. IP to IP was one of the fundamental parts of Bitcoin that was removed by core right after I left, basically, I fix Bitcoin and I had the lay out in the first place. There's no question that what happened, and whatever else and what version of things Nakamoto wanted, because I am Satoshi Nakamoto. I created Bitcoin. Very soon, people will notice that. If you don't like it, I don't care.

Question 2. As the main witnesses of BTC to BCH fork, what do you think was the main reason for the fork at that point of time? Now what do you think about the fork at the time? Have you ever changed your mind?
CSW: There was a BCH fork away from Bitcoin, BTC added a number of things to make cryptocurrency more anonymous, which makes it illegal, which means the government can shut it down. Don’t ever believe the government can’t stop bitcoin. Government, the US government and Chinese government could stop bitcoin in a heartbeat. They are going to follow international law to shut down. The Liberty Reserve closed down involved 42 countries working together. It involved basically a distributive system of 10,000 different operations. Not Raspberry pie nodes because it is only 15 real BTC nodes, operators to ran money system. We can't work to unable governments to see machines. If the criminal use of bitcoin is to become anonymous that government can seize machines, can arrest people, can torture by law. The American government can enforce orders in China. So BTC wanted to make something that was not bitcoin. It wanted to change bitcoin further. So BTC split away from bitcoin. That's the fork. Bitcoin didn't change. I make sure we kept going. Jihan and Bitmain. I would like to have a talk about what we are planning, and the mining, we are building. Jihan and Bitmain, took the information to go into confidence and make sure that there was a fork. So this fork happened because Jihan and Bitmain are basically a bunch of lying stuff, and that would be found out later. The second fork was only last year. That was with BCH. Just to keep it simple. Bitcoin vary again. There’s no system of bitcoin is out to try to make it illegal, to make it criminal, to make it anonymous. Roger Ver, who helps from things like Silk Road and Charlie's friend money laundering operation, which Charlie's friend went to jail for. Other people like them that invested a lot of the dark websites, which all under investigation at the moment, which will be founded to watch in the next several years. People like Roger and even Jihan, wanted to use bitcoin to take the illegal money and transfer, they want it to be a dark web system. So they added extra objects to change the bitcoin further. They try to allow it to be more anonymous in a different way. So the simple thing is, there is bitcoin as I created, and there is bitcoin designed to be illegal and then it forks.

Question 3. Finally, can we invite Dr. Craig and Mr. Jiang to talk about each other's technology l and vision? What is the most worthwhile point to learn?
**CSW:**Sorry, I don’t look at those broken versions of bitcoin. I have no interest in learning about how people don’t want to understand bitcoin, how about you want to see the value and how they want to create the system or see these cryptocurrencies in the 90s. If people want to do that, that’s all their choice, but I am not interested in watching them go down in flames. Thank you.

Jiang asked CSW: You have ever wondered why there isn't a 0 in Base58 encodings. (Satoshi, the creator of Base58 explicitly took out 0 and O to avoid confusion). Why didn't you even know the Base58 encoding if you are Satoshi?
https://www.reddit.com/btc/comments/9apx40/professor_technobabble_wondering_why_there_isnt_a/
CSW: He's supposedly trying to mislead the audience by making out the checksum to pass off the transaction. He is basically trying to lie to the people and the audience, making them seen that I don’t understand bitcoin. If you look at why it works, the address was not part of the bitcoin. Bitcoin is a wallet, exchange peer-to-peer with the template. Basically, why does this work is that you have is a transaction that has a checksum to send between wallets. That checksum is a relevant. It never goes into the bitcoin network. The checksum is added only to ensure the transaction to the network while a wallet is correct. The original version of bitcoin didn’t eventually work that way. So what he is trying to mislead you is to say is what I don’t understand checksum etc., which is the lie propagate by people like Bitmain, where insists what it is you do a checksum of the code and then you hand it up. And the third part of this is very simply put. Without the checksum, the transaction sends to the network properly. The checksum is purely a wallet function, so you can add any checksum function and Wormhole would allow this work. Wormhole was an attempt to make an illegal system. Wormhole is another of these things because Jihan and the others wanted to take money out of China. They work with people to do money laundering, so the value that they see of bitcoin is to help money laundering. So they want to try and lie to people and make it that I don’t understand this technology, because they want to keep their money laundering scam going. So if you actually look at my posts, you will see that I've already explained the checksum in details. If you look at the work bitcoin transaction, you will see there has no transaction checksum. No one wants you to look at that because they want you to stay stupid and ignorant, because spending money out of you requires that you are dumb.

Weekly news review (April 20-26)
Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend!
As it's become our tradition, let's take a deep-dive into last week's news highlights.
https://preview.redd.it/ueq4fn09n5v21.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=91ae0e5cbac96bc925f45edaa6dee0b348c65b7c
An 18-year-old from New York has filed a $1 billion lawsuit against Apple over a false arrest he says happened because of what he believes to be Apple's face recognition system. NYPD officers arrested Ousmane Bah on November 29th after he was falsely linked to a series of Apple Store thefts in Boston, New Jersey, Delaware, and Manhattan. Apparently, the real perpetrator used a stolen ID that had his name, address, and other personal information. However, since the ID didn't have a photo, the lawsuit claims Apple programmed its stores' face recognition system to associate the real thief's face with Bah's details. However, an Apple spokesperson told that the company does not use facial recognition in its stores.

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after becoming one of the first people in the United States to be convicted of stealing cryptocurrency by hacking into cell phones. Prosecutors in Santa Clara announced the jail sentence on April 22. In February, Joel Ortiz had pleaded guilty and to theft and accepted the 10-year plea deal.
Ortiz stole more than $7.5 million from at least 40 victims: the press release notes that he then spent $10,000 a time at Los Angeles nightclubs, hired a helicopter to fly him and his friends to a music festival, and bought top-end Gucci clothes and luggage.
Illegal SIM swaps often involve duping phone companies into switching cell phone numbers to a new SIM card by providing stolen addresses and social security numbers. From here, hackers can circumvent two-step authentication measures that are designed to keep crypto safe.

Tuesday, April 23 — crypto markets rallied with bitcoin (BTC) hitting its new 2019 high of over $5,500.
Citing data from the European crypto exchange Bitstamp, Bloomberg wrote on Tuesday that bitcoin has formed its first bullish golden cross since October 2015. The milestone followed a 35% price climb past $5,600, on track for its best monthly gain since the height of the crypto frenzy in December 2017, Bloomberg noted.
Recently, Fundstrat Global Advisors founder Tom Lee revealed that his company’s bitcoin sentiment indicator Bitcoin Misery Index (BMI) has never been seen in a bear market. The expert noted that the BMI was over 50 throughout 2018, but recently touched a value of 89, which means that a “bull market is likely starting.”

Facebook expects to face a massive fine of up to $5 billion from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as the result of an investigation into its privacy policies—that's about one month's revenue for the social media giant.
The FTC launched an investigation into Facebook last year after it was revealed that the company allowed Cambridge Analytica access to the personal data of around 50 million Facebook users without their explicit consent. If Facebook agrees, the fine will be a record for the FTC, which has never imposed such a massive fine on any tech company till the date.
The FTC fine on Facebook will also surpass the $22.5 million civil penalties Google paid in 2012 to settle FTC charges for allegedly violating an agreement to improve privacy practices.

American entrepreneur and stalwart crypto advocate John McAfee says he is holding back on plans to reveal the real identity of bitcoin (BTC) creator Satoshi Nakamoto, for fear it will expose him to further lawsuits as he fights potential extradition to the United States. The news was reported by Bloomberg on April 24.
McAfee — who founded the pioneering anti-virus firm McAfee Associates in 1987 — claims his technology expertise has helped him track down the real Satoshi. According to Bloomberg, McAfee said he had communicated with Nakamoto in recent days, alleging that the mystery figure is in fact a man living in the U.S.
McAfee reportedly further noted that the alleged Nakamoto “is not a happy camper about my attempt to out him.” Bloomberg adds that while McAfee had at first told the news agency he would make his disclosure within a week, he is now holding back over concerns that the move could make him the target of multiple lawsuits.

The Silk Road creator is arrested and the website has been seized by the FBI, drama all over reddit.

/silkroad is now private!

Here's a news story on /SilkRoad from businessinsider http://www.businessinsider.com/reddits-silk-road-community-freaks-out-after-seizure-2013-10?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+clusterstock+(ClusterStock)
The first post to /silkroad, not much drama
The main discussion going on in /silkroad, the fallout discussion is located here
One user thinks that another should have prepared for this, /SilkRoad subscribers aren't amused
"Ya know, killing someone who is threatening to harm thousands of people isn't such a low moral standard. Especially a junky attempting to black mail those people."
More drama in /news about it, here's the entire thread
"The should be on the near the top on multiple, subs, if not here. This is outrageous! I hope their prosecution is a complete failure. Why does the FBI get to arrest him, do they just bitchslap the DEA out of the way when its a big headline grabber? I wish the FBI wouldn't get involved in the drug war so we could have one halfway decent law enforcement agency."
Now to /Bitcoin, where bitcoin prices have dropped quite a bit since the announcement.
The largest current post on the topic
Minor drama here when a user says "It's great news", not everyone agrees
More drama in another /bitcoin thread, "And you guys laughed at me when I told you the value was all in the black markets... please GTFO if you don't understand."
The discussion is also ongoing in /drugs, in this thread
One user says doing heroine is more dangerous than going to jail, not all of /drugs agrees
More minor drama throughout the thread
Now we move to /worldnews, there are quite a few different opinions and drama in this thread
Drama near the top of the thread
"Did this man commit a violent crime? Did his customers? The why is the US government spending money pursuing and locking these people up?"
Last but not least, we head to /technology for this thread
"This was not about the illegal drugs. Thus was about the bit coins which scare the fed and financial sector to their core because they do not control them." Not everyone agrees.
added
More /silkroad drama
One user thinks the owner was acting in self defence
If you find anymore drama, comment and I'll add it to the post

The Forthcoming CryptoTrapdoor

TLDR: CIA wants you to use bitcoin, but CIA is bad and they are up to something. When you've traded your last dollars, they'll laugh and pull the plug on bitcoin. Then you will be sad.
UPDATE:
Google is developing cryptocoin tools. Ok so the problem with that is manifold
  1. ) We know google is CIA; CIA is very untrustworthy--they've spied on us illegally since 9/11 created a security state junta; they got their start with inqtel a cia company; assange says its cia; everything they do from censoring technopopulists to promoting a fugitive from the law hillary clinton (by our FBI's own admission in congress!) over a lawfully elected president, while undermining the same....all suggest Google is still CIA.
  2. ) CIA was effectively a merger of former US intelligence and expropriated Nazi intelligence and researchers (Operation Paperclip), guided by a Nazi sympathizer whose post-WW2 work was serving as a lawyer and strategist to assist Nazi officers escape punishment and hide their wealth through various financial proxies (Allen Dulles). This is our true history. Dulles also was fired by JFK and then was charged with producing the Warren Report about JFK's assassination. MKULTRA is where we drugraped teens to blackmail politicians (brownstone ops), drugraped prostitutes and soldiers (edgewood), and performed unethical human experimentation that continues to this day. That was CIA, Navy, Darpa
  3. ) I'll say it again, a Nazi sympathizer who hid nazi gold in switzerland and ran ratlines to argentina for nazi officers, who wanted to use a false flag operation to destroy Cuba but was denied, was in charge of JFK's investigation. Kind of like having a Deepstate operative like Robert Mueller type in charge of the official 9/11 report isn't it?
  4. ) CIA is Wall Street's private army.
  5. ) NSA scans your emails, your text messages, all your information---"capture it all". They have been caught several times front-running on your private data. Any screenplay you wrote, any invention you put in a file on the google drive, and investments you're planning, any business projects you're in----they have already read and are already using in an anti-competitive way, front running on your good ideas.
  6. ) Through asset forfeitures, the US Government has a majority of Bitcoin; this is from mt gox hack recovery, silk road, silk road 2, alphabay and other darknet seizures abroad of bitcoin
  7. ) The US Government has spent 6 months colluding with the media to undermine Trump with a fake story that everyone now knows is fake (except a vanishingly few marginal, sophomoric violents, antifa types in california).
  8. ) The FBI has spent now over a year maintaining a falsified document leveraged to create a disinfo to create a psychological war against US citizens, in lieu of doing their ACTUAL job of busting a now-widely known SPY RING IN CONGRESS
  9. ) The US Government (Permanent State) has been bitching, moaning, whining about every little thing Trump has done; failing to recognize his accomplishments which are objectively pro-citizen; while letting very high level criminal avoid punishment---creating a dual justice system
  10. ) Cryptocoin has skyrocketted based well beyond confidence if you look historically at DOW industrial trends...this is a bubble, an obvious bubble. Who is blowing this bubble? Well look who has the majority share
  11. ) You don't know who runs the exchanges, but the modus operandi of those who run the exchanges are that of both criminals and intelligence agencies. I suggest it's both of them working together to run the exchanges
  12. ) After all, you can't mine bitcoin now, if you do you'll lose money because electricity to mine costs more than what you'll get from mining unless you already own vast mining infrastructure--this is the marginal cost of mining. The marginal cost of mining far exceeds purchase price of bitcoin so you might as well buy it
  13. ) Who has spare bitcoin to sell, if mining is so unprofitable AND bitcoin keeps going up? Who would sell bitcoin if it's that compelling? LOL THINK! G D it. THINK!!!! Use your brain. Someone is dumping bitcoin on you, and you're eating it up, thinking you're a genius for investing in it so early.... it's a trap...it's a honeypot. Owning a bitcoin is not a illuminati scout member badge into an exclusive club you dolts
Given that the US Security-Industrial complex, the 17 agencies, primarily CIA, NSA, FBI, NGA, DoD have been using that unaccounted-for 20T dollars now to spy on--not only us, the lumpen citizens of US, but also our Congress members--through the Pakistani liaison loophole of the Awan Brothers, it's very clear that they have NOT honored the underlying principles and values of our constitution and our culture generally. They are concerned with making money by any and all possible means---even through absolute evil--and they are concerned with controlling society very rigidly through technology, psychology, exploitation of human fears, wants and aspirations.
One way to control people is through money. When society gets out of control, especially when they start to doubt, or to hate, the control imposed upon them, the government goes absolutely insane
Because we've already proven in an earlier post that the US Government is the batshit paranoid conspiracy theorist that has ever existed, and it uses any and all desperate measures to control people's minds. That is it's true purpose and operating principle above all else. Money is just a means to that end. The mental health industry is a means to that end. The music and film industries are a means to that end. Academia is a means to that end. Modern art is a means to that end. I could go on and on how the CIA has inserted itself into all aspects of culture to create an enormous establishmentarian cult, but that's not the point of this post--though mentioning this is germane to this post to the extent that it's necessary to understand in the context of the CRYPTOCOIN TRAPDOOR>>>
So what is this cryptocoin trapdoor?
Hmm. Let me try to explain this in terms of a ruse that happened to me last year. I was invited to join a sub /sphinxclub which was ostensibly an 'antimason' sub. I had been down on freemasons / jesuits (still am) at least high level ones. I see them as the common denominator in many of these strategies-of-tension around the world, and the evidence for that is overwhelming. So I joined sphinxclub and after little activity we asked the sub's creator "so what is this sub about, what are we doing here, who wants to start the dialogue". The answer was something like "we're waiting for 20 mods to be invited so we can open the trapdoor and send everyone into hell". I thought it was a joke, and then there was an 'assignment' which I believed (in my opinion) was asking people to commit an act of left-wing terrorism against a defense contractor in florida who was believed to be using electromagnetic waves as harassment and mind control to create 'mass murder shooters' like the Navy Yard shooting. Of course I'm interested in figuring out if there's truth to this, but the means was illegal, so I left.
This strategy is both a honeypot and a trapdoor. Honeypot to bring you in and waste your time (timeloop you, waste your effort otherwise spent on writing subversive essays that undermine the establihment). Trapdoor to get you put in jail.
I believe crypto is the same type of honeypot-trapdoor
Honeypot because
  1. ) Honeypot because it's going up very quickly and now bitcoin is worth more than gold
  2. ) John McAffee a renowned technologist and drug-addled madman with spooky origins says he'll eat his penis if bitcoin isn't worth more than what a million by 2020? Something like that. He allegedly has his own mining facility in latin america, iirc.
  3. ) Honeypot because Google is now going to support it
  4. ) Honeypot because US Gov is looking the other way and China supported it
Tradoor because
  1. ) China banning it
  2. ) Finanical experts warning it's a fraud
  3. ) Me warning it's a fraud because the NSA has over 2000 Qbit quantum computers now and likely runs the exchanges
  4. ) Ebay is using it -- George Webb's research tied Omidyar directly to Deepstate
  5. ) CIA is Wall Street's private army and cannot have a situation they dont' control.
  6. ) Max Keiser and Stacey Hubert have said, numerous times, with many financial guests that NSA/CIA are manipulating markets while using the media to have you believe it's anarchic...it's an illusion
  7. ) JP Morgan is trying to manipulate crypto in europe now
  8. ) If you exchange your dollars for bitcoin, and then bitcoin plummets, then the elite have just taken your last bit of wealth away
  9. ) At this point the only people who can make money off bitcoin ARE the elite, so buying crypto is a cannabalization of dollar-owners by the political elite on the industrial/retail elite -- intelligence-aligned (dynastic) rich are eating the nouveau rich; and they are eating left-coast crypto liberals also
  10. ) EDIT: Oops forgot about civil asset forfeiture of unpaid capital gains taxes on crypto being like a stock
What is your agenda with this anti-bitcoin stuff?
I have none. These are just my thoughts I'm sharing with you and why I no longer support bitcoin until such time there are laws that guarantee that these things I worry about are inhibited. In other words, we need a non-corrupt intelligence community and guarantee they aren't manipulating it before I can trust using any kind of crypto currency. I'm telling you because I want you to make sound choices with your money and be happy and have a good safe life.
The best thing you can do right now is watch this video
What can you do?
Buy gold, silver, platinum. Or a tractor. Or bullet making equipment. Because guns are worthless without bullets.

Question 1: Both the BCH and BSV communities think that they are the true, original bitcoin from Nakamoto. What do you think was the original idea from Nakamoto?
CSW:My original idea is defined in white paper for no limits.

CSW:Sorry, I don’t look at those broken versions of bitcoin.

Think Blokstream can't kill Bitcoin? A cautionary tale: Pretty Good Privacy (PGP)

PGP was released in 1991 as a way for anyone to encrypt their email with another person by exchanging public keys.
If you read the history of PGP, it's eerily similar to that of Bitcoin.
I still remember it being released back in the early 90's. This software was classified as a weapon, and its early creator was charged with "exporting munitions without a license". I can't make this @#[email protected] up, read the link.
What happened next? Well, a private company put all the PGP developers on their payroll... Sound familiar?
Fast forward, no commercially viable product using PGP encryption ever reached more than pockets of enthusiasts, and four years after the private company started, the guy who started it all gave up and moved on to other things.
Today, over 15 years later, PGP (or any decentralized public / private key email encryption scheme) isn't used broadly. Encryption schemes are all centralized and controlled by providers, which makes them easy to crack from a single contact point.
Bitcoin was not criminalized directly, but tight rules were put on its exchange. This, like PGP, made it very easy to go to jail if you dealt with the software or distributed it.
Next, Blokstream hires the a majority of core developers (in terms of commit activity) and buys social media support that silences any competing projects or ideas.
There's $76m behind this effort. If people go to an alt-coin, they will be viewed as deserters. If they try to change Bitcoin from the inside, they are stymied and attacked. There's reason to believe that miners are under pressure from regulators in China, and it wouldn't be much of a stretch for that pressure to be related to the efforts to keep Bitcoin small.
This is a sticky situation. Don't underestimate it.
